3 dies, several injured in a terrible Mchinji accident involving a vehicle going to a funeral
Three people have died, while several others have sustained serious injuries following a road accident that occurred in Mchinji yesterday.
One of the survivors, Mathews Chatambalala that the incident happened at Chikhutu village along the Lilongwe-Mchinji M12 road on their way to Namitete to attend the funeral ceremony of their relation.
He adds that there were over 13 passengers on board.
Director of Health and Social Services for Mchinji Dr. Yohane Mwale, says 62 year-old woman Jennifer Banda and a 35 year-old man, Collins Manfred Ngoma, died on the spot.
According to Dr. Mwale, the third person died upon arrival at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, where he was referred to together with the other person.
