Rev Chimwemwe Mhango’s Heart of Worship group releases single on anti-albino killing
Heart of Worship group from Kanengo C.C.A.P, under the leadership of Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango, has released a one song CD carrying a message against the barbaric hunting, killing and dismembering of people with albinism.
Apart from calling for unified efforts in the fight, the song “Ndife amodzi” also cries for Malawi’s lost glory and oneness which earned it the brand “Warm Heart of Africa”.
Also featured in the song is one Earnest Masanda, an albino whose message impersonates his brothers and sisters who cry from the grave pleading “Our blood is crying from the grave/ what are you as, Government and Civil Society Organisations doing about our safety/ Where to do we run for it is our very own brothers and sisters that are killing us”.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency, the young adults’ group treasurer, Mellae Gondwe, disclosed that “We have several sensitisation campaigns lined up on the same, and the CD is part of our fundraising.”
Gondwe further disclosed that there is an upcoming video for the same song and she has since challenged electronic media houses to join the bandwagon support the initiative through air play of the song.
The song sealed with a strong message that calls for tolerance saying “It is our differences that make our country beautiful.”
