The sponsor and host of the competition, Charles Ulaya, said preparations were almost complete for the show down.

“The preparations are almost completed and everything is set for the competition. So far, about 40 body builders have shown interest to compete come Sunday, October 15,” said Ulaya.

Ulaya said the competition is expected to help raise awareness on the dangers of non –communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure, among others.

“Our aim is to bring awareness on non – communicable diseases such as cancer and diabetes. These diseases are killing people silently in Malawi. We rarely talk about them but they kill, anyway. Some are even fueled by our life styles,” Ulaya observed.

“You can reduce the risk of exposure through exercising. I also urge Malawians to go for cancer, diabetes and blood pressure tests,” he advised.

One of the contestants, Yasin Suwedi, popularly known as ‘Mr. Ichocho’ who owns Ichocho Power Security Company sounded confident to win the grand prize. He also called upon his supporters to flock to BICC on Sunday to support him.

“I would like to call on my supporters from all corners of the country to come in their large numbers to give me the moral support,” appealed Ichocho.

Ulaya announced that the overall winner in the contest will walk away with a brand new car while the second runner up would cart home K500, 000 cash.

“The one to finish on third position will be K250, 000 richer while the one on fourth position will receive K150, 000 and lastly the one on fifth position will receive K100, 000,” Ulaya said.
