TNM customers to pay GOtv subscriptions via Mpamba
Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) customers will now start paying their GOtv monthly subscriptions using its mobile money transfer service called Mpamba.
TNM Head of Marketing, Sobhuza Ngwenya, said the new smart payment service would provide customers of both brands convenience while saving their money at the same time.
In order to pay, GOtv subscription with Mpamba, customers will be required to dial *444# and follow the prompts on their phones. The connection happens automatically within seconds.
“With Mpamba, TNM customers who subscribe to GOtv will be able to pay their monthly subscription effortlessly from any location using their phones. No need to drive or communicate to Multichoice or their agents to pay subscription. Thus, this partnership has been designed to save our customers’ time and money while paying for GOtv,” he said.
Ngwenya said the partnership with GOtv demonstrates TNM’s commitment towards development of an efficient and robust cashless payment system in Malawi using the growing Mpamba network as a catalyst.”Mpamba has proved to be one of the most efficient and secure money transfer services in Malawi. Many people are turning to Mpamba for their money transfer and bill payment needs. As more people register with Mpamba, a lot of money that could have been spent on transportation to reach service providers is being saved and channeled towards other productive purposes,” said Ngwenya.
In his remarks, Multichoice Malawi Sales and Marketing Manager, Chimwemwe Nyirenda, said the partnership with TNM Mpamba makes it even easier for their customers to enjoy uninterrupted Digital TV Channels.
“All they need is a TNM simcard, Mpamba registration and pay from the comfort of their homes,” he said.
GOtv is Multichoice’s low-cost Digital terrestrial television broadcast, while Mpamba is Malawi’s pioneering mobile money transfer solution exclusive to TNM subscribers.
