Lengthy jail for Malawi man who sexually assualted two girls
Blantyre Magistrates Court has jailed a 27 year-old man who earlier this month defiled two girls at once.
Issah Rajabu defiled two girls aged 12 and 8 on 19 march, 2015 in Chilobwe Township.
He was on Monday convicted after he pleaded guilty to two counts of defilement under Section 138 (1) of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Mandala sentenced Rajabu to 15 years imprisonment with hard labour on first count and 18 years on second count.
The sentence is to run concurrently.
Rajabu is said to have locked the victims in his house, blindfolded them with cloths and started defiling them one after the other.
He gave each of them K200 and threatened to kill them if they reveal what happened to anyone.
Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital’s medical report tendered in court confirmed the victims were defiled.
Police Prosecutor, Sub-inspector Victor Nachuma said Rajabu deserved custodial sentence to deter would-be offenders.
In mitigation Rajabu pleaded for leniency as he is a family man with two children to look after.
Rajabu hails from Mutiyani village T/A Kelembo, Mangochi.
