Albinos take Malawi govt to task over failure to establish special court
People with albinism have taken the government to task over its failure to establish a special court that would mete out harsh sentences to those that attack albinos.

Boniface Massa, president of the Association of People with Albinism said the government had promised to set up the court in Zomba.
“The government’s failure to set up the court has led to lenient sentences. These sentences cannot deter abductions, attacks and killings of people with albinism,” said Massa.
He said this leaves people with albinism unsafe and pleaded with the government to set up the special court as soon as possible.
Judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula said the judiciary will meet soon to discuss the matter.
A dozen albinos have in the past years been abducted then killed as some people think the body parts of the people with albinism make charms that enrich people.
In some instances, graves of people with albinism have been dug for the bones.
The government reacted swiftly by arresting the suspects and brought them to courts where sentences have been lenient according to some people.

Our society has not been fair to our brothers and sisters with albinism, all along it has been herd that they don’t die but vanish, this perception is behind this inhuman, nasty attacks happening now. It is this mind set that needs to change, that requires all of us.
I dont want to comment angandimangitse! If this be done, then the special courts should be set up for all types of disabilities: the blind should have their own court, so should the deaf, the lame etc, It will be a country of courts!
I wish gay people would also setup something like this…
