Aford to hold fresh convention after court ruling : Chihana feels vindicated

Embattled Alliance for Democracy (Aford) president Enock Chihana has indicated that the party’s National Executive Committee will in the coming weeks to organise the holding of a fresh  convention as ordered by the High Court.

Chihana (left) and Frank Mwenefumbo: Courts orders fresh convention

High Court Judge Charles Mkandawire on Friday made the ruling in a case where Frank Mwenifumbo sought the court to legitimise his camp.

The two camps held parallel conventions in May, where the presidents of the party were separately elected

The judge in his determination on Friday called for a fresh convention.

Chihana said he welcomed the court verdict.

The Rumphi Central legislator claimed : “This is a welcome development because we did not have legitimate delegates. The mandate of some of the delegates that voted expired some five years ago and now I can say I have been vindicated. The problem we have is that we now have people who only want to hijack the party.”

But Mwenifumbo said he did not expect the judgement the way it has been delivered.

The Karonga Central parliamentarian said he is  re-examining the judgment.

In a one-hour ruling, the judge advised political parties in the country to find political solutions to their differences, instead of dragging each other to courts.

The court’s only mandate is to interpret the law, pointed out Judge Mkandawire, adding that political solutions can only be found within politicians themselves.:

Mwenifumbo, Mwenifumbo, please stop it , you are a sellout. This is your last term of a political office in Malawi, just continue doing your Mikoma Lodge which you had used the stolen funds from the Bingu family.

Frank Mwenifumbo is a political postitute who was first at a rally of Bakili in Karonga to call for a THIRD TERM for Bakili. Then having been elected again as Aford MP for a second term he was amongst the first to support Bingu in Bingu’s fight with Bakili and was even instrumental in Bingu’s marginalisation of UDF and the formation of DPP after Bingu and Mwenifumbo came back loaded with U S Dollars from Taiwan, using the dollars to buy support for Bingu. The same Mwenifumbo fought for leadership with Chakufwa. The same Mwenifumbo at a rally in Zomba… Read more »

Gondwe did not Jump to support Joyce Banda. Joyce Banda begged Gondwe to help her. he turned her down Three times at the forth time of asking, she used the phrase “Do you hate me this much that you even refuse to help your country”.. With that statement Gondwe asked hid DPP friends to allow him to help her. Unfortunately Joyce Banda was not looking for help, but to humiliate Gondwe, by dismissing him from cabinet, unfortunately for her Gondwe was told of this before she could dismiss him and he resigned. Joyce Banda is in Malawi now, go and… Read more »

I still say Goodall jumped to support PP (Joyce) whilst Bingu’s body was not yet cold. Mwenifumbo remains political prostitute No 1 what ever you say.

If he did that do you think Peter would have given him a ministerial post?

We all know the politics of Malawi, How many of those that Joined Joyce Banda are still in DPP?

What does that say to you? Goodall went to PP with DPPs blessing.

No Goodall Gondwe phoned Joyce to offer support and Joyce accepted Goodall Gondwe and made him a Minister. But Gondwe ever selfish did not cut off ties his friends in DPP so Joyce sacked him.
APM made Gondwe a Minister because APM had no choice after Gondwe left Joyce.

Why do people like you speak like you know what happened? Gondwe could not have rang Joyce because of their bad history.

I have said in my first comment go and ask Joyce Banda. Why do people have wishful thinking, Even Joyce Banda, could not have accepted Gondwe if Gondwe had asked.

The fact that you do not like someone does not make a story true.
