Arrested for burning niece private parts after sex denial
Police in Kasungu are keeping in custody Kennedy Banda, 42, for burning private parts of niece after she had refused to have sex with him.
The suspect on 5th July at Kalembo Village in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Chilowamatambe burned the private parts of his 25 year-old niece, Nellie Josephy, after she turned down his sexual advances and quarreled with his wife.
In an interview, police spokesperson Sub Inspector Edwin Kaunda said the suspect, Banda, who is married and has a two-year-old girl, has stayed with the niece since 2008.
“Our reports indicate that on that particular day Kennedy asked Nellie to have sex with him but the girl refused a thing that angered him [Banda] who later went on to punish his niece by burning her private parts.
“The victim was referred to Kasungu District Hospital where she was treated as an outpatient,” highlighted Kaunda
Banda, who hails from Kalembo village T/A Chilowamatambe in Kasungu, will appear in court soon to answer the charge of acts intended to cause grievous harm.
