Bedbugs send students packing in Nkhotokota
Students at Nkhotokota Secondary School this week packed up their bags and refused to sit for end of term examination because of menacing bedbugs.
Some students said they had no option but go home despite the fact that the end of term examination because they could not concentrate on the examination.
“We reported this to school management a month ago but they are doing nothing, we have been reminding them to fumigate our hostels but they are doing nothing,” said one student.
The headmaster refused to comment on the matter although bedbugs also caused problems at Salima Secondary School and Nkhata Bay Secondary School.

This is very bad indeed,ministry of education and health please do something here otherwise its not only education that is at stake here but above all their lives. Just imagine my boy came back to weeks ago from nkhatabay sec.school critically ill got admitted at to queens hospital which im sure was the result of these bedburg biting

Kodi don’t you pay school fund for things like these? Kapena you will blame it on APM? We during our time in MCP autocratic rule, were paying school funds to deal with these issues.
The school managememt should work hard to ensure bedbugs are eradicated. Pupils must have comfortable environment for studying.
