Bullets’ Chimango Kayira leaves for Mozambique
Big Bullets and Malawi international combative midfielder, Chimango Kayira, is set to join Mozambican top club Desporto da Costal de Sol.
The player was expected to leave Wednesday for discussions having been offered air tickets to travel to the club base in that country’s capital, Maputo.
Players’ scout agent Nelito Pondamali confirmed that the Flames’ star midfielder was set to for a two-year outright contract depending on his terms.
“He is expected to sign the contract on Thursday and will undergo a medical on Friday,” Pondamale said.
The offer comes after the one by Silver Strikers at the start of the season which the former ESCOM United and Copa Coca-Cola school tournament product failed amidst contractual impasse between Bullets and Silver.
In a related development, another former Bullets and South African based striker Jimmy Zakazaka is also linked with a move to the club, according to Pondamale, who is also handling the deal.
Should the deals materialize, Kayira and Zakazaka, an on and off Flames’ forward, could link up with several compatriots playing in the Mozambican league and particularly former Mighty Wanderers’ defenders Moses Chavula and Foster Namwera who are also at the club.
