Bullets plans to sign 6 players, Nswazi tipped for head coach role
Big Bullets Football Club has revealed that it is planning to recruit about six players as part of beefing up the current squad ahead of the Caf Club Championship campaign next year.
The club also intends to recruit a well qualified coach who matches the standards required by Caf, this is according to Bullets Chairperson Kondi Msungama.
Msungama however emphasized that this does not mean completely ditching out the current technical panel but also revealed that Burundian Nswazurimo Ramadhan who is among the panel that helped Bullets to win the 2014-15 top flight Super League already applied for the coaching post.
Nyasa Times understands that the head coach that led Bullets to success Elia Kananji do not hold a Caf licence certificate.
“Plans are underway to make sure that we have a coach with the required requirements and I can assure you that Ramadhana [Nwazurimo] already applied,” said Msungama in an interview with MBC Radio.
“We are critically working on the matter and the responsible people thus the club executive is currently working on that” said Msungama.
Msungama also confirmed that the club wishes to recruit six more players whom he did not disclose names but confessed that some of the players might be those that have been appeared in the newspaper linking them to Bullets including Mighty Be Forward Wanderers number one goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa.
The players include Ishmael Thindwa, Silver’s Chawanangwa Kaonga and Nomads defender Francis FM7 Mlimbika.
“Every chairman or coach can wish to have such a player [Chipuwa]. We just want to beef up the squad because we already have a good squad that earned us Carlsberg Cup and Super League championship in the just ended year but we need to have more players because we have very big tasks ahead,” said Msungama.
Meanwhile, Bullets is expected to announce the targeted players to be recruited on Wednesday next week.
Bullets F.C will face Comoros Island side Fomboni in the first round of the preliminary stage on 13th February, 2014.
