Bullets supporters’ unsporting behaviour costs club K0.5mil fine
Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club management will suffer the consequences of unsporting behaviour showcased by one of their
supporters after being slapped with a K500,000.00 fine by Football Association of Malawi Disciplinary Sub-Committee.
It is alleged that a BB fan identified as Lyton Thobo Kabuwaza bullied Cobbe Barracks players during a Carlsberg quarterfinal match
played at the Balaka Stadium on 13th August 2017.
A verdict released by FAM on Monday signed by Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) Alfred Gunda states that Kabuwaza poured liquid on Cobbe Barracks players as they were walking to the dressing room.
It further faults the BB Supporters Committee for aiding Kabuwaza to escape Police arrest after the incident.
Kabuwaza’s conduct is a breach of Article 24.12 of the 2017 Carlsberg Cup Rules and Regulations.
He has therefore been banned from entering any stadium or taking part in any football related matters for the rest of the 2017 season.
The Club has been ordered to pa K500,000.00 for failing to take precautionary measures to control the supporter.
Meanwhile, FAM has also ordered that Bullets ensure that the suspended supporters is complying to the ban.
They have 48 hours to appeal with accompaned by a K500,000.00 appeal fee.
The fine must be paid before the next official match, according to the FA statement.
