Children of Malawi Police officers urged to take education seriously, live exemplary
Children of Police Officers in the Eastern Region have been challenged to work hard in their education and live in an exemplary manner if they are to be reliable and productive citizens.
This was disclosed at a Christmas party Malawi Police Service (MPS) held in the Eastern Region few days ago and was hosted at Zomba Police College.
Speaking at the event, Emma Mlotha who represented the Commissioner for the region Effie Kaitano asked the children to fully concentrate on education if they are to be reliable citizens.
“People expect children who come from Police lines to be of good behaviour,” she said.
Mlotha therefore urged the children that they leave behind all their bad deeds in 2016 and let 2017 be the beginning of new lives.
“You should desist from indulging yourself in immoral behavior and always be responsible,” she added.
In his remark, Regional Welfare Officer for the East Sub-Inspector Edward Maonga concurred with Mlotha that children of Police Officers are expected to be exemplary as Police is a disciplined organization.
He therefore urged the children to stay focused and concentrate on education other than indulging in immoral behavior and associating with bad peers.
The children were entertained to the maximum with the presence of a Father Christmas that distributed sweets and chocolate.
Those with dancing skills were also handed monetary prizes.
Malawi Police Orchestra and a disco wrapped up everything with a disco.
