Civo receives club bus from Malawi govt
State sponsored Civo Service United football club has received brand new 36 seater bus to ease transportation the team was facing .
Handing over the bus to the club in a ceremony that was attended by Civo players, officials, senior government officials and media at Civo Club house , Chief Secretary to government , George Mkondiwa said government was responding to a request from players made when he hosted them after winning Standard Bank Cup last year .
He said upon the request from the players he reported the requests to President Peter Mutharika who is also the head of the civil service commission who promised to take care of the problems.
Mkondiwa said the President is happy with the team’s perfomance last season which saw them winning Standard Bank Cup but he is looKing forward to see more silverware in the 2016 season.
The Chief Secretary promised Civo players that government is considering to offer them jobs in the government based on their education and Curriculum Vitae .
Mkondiwa said government will soon buy another bus for its sister team , Civonets to use in their netball games
Civo United captain Emanuel Zoya has since thanked government for the new bus .
