Complex Tigresses wins GOtv netball championship
Complex Tigresses have been crowned 2014 GOtv Fast 5 Netball champions.
Tigresse, who already sealed their championship on Saturday after beating Mafco 30-19, finished the competition in style on Sunday after beating rivals Diamond Sisters.
The team finished the competition with a record of 20 unbeaten run and collected maximum 40 points.
Diamonds who were the defending champions finished second while Blue Eagles came third. Civo nets finished on fourth position while on 5th position were a tie between Mafco and fading faints MTL Queens.
Tigresses got K1.5 million and a trophy for emerging champions while second placed Diamond Sister pocketed home K1.2 Million.
Blue Eagles Sisters received K1 Million, Civo Nets K700,000.00 and MTL Queens received K500,000.00 for finishing third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Former Malawi National Netball Team star Peace Chawinga who is now coach for Tigresses was delighted with the victory and promised to sweep all netball competitions.
“I am very delighted that we have won the GOtv netball championship and we already knew that we will win the competition.
“We have given ourselves a target of winning all the competitions nothing else,” said Chawinga.
The last round of the competition was played at the Don Bosco in Lilongwe and was graced by the Youth Development and Sports Minister Grace Chiumia.
