Dalitso Chaponda finishes Malawi shows in jovial mood: ‘Immense success’

Carl Joshua Ncube, a Zimbabwean comedian full of energy and humor started the show on a high note, from the moment he made introductory remarks, the show promised to be fun filled to the audience. Ncube cracked endless jokes that made people laugh their lungs out.

Daliso Chaponda: Had two shows

Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) was packed to the maximum and the show was exceptionally well organized, the organizers are not other than concept creative and they deserve a credit for the fruitful effort that has made the event glamorous and successful.

It is believed that shows are inevitable in terms of patronage but that was not the case with concept creative as the show in Lilongwe was well patronized. Indeed people of different colors, creed and culture converged and the only common ground was laughter.

Speaking in an interview after the show on Saturday evening, Malawi’s united Kingdom-based comedy superstar Dalitso Chaponda expressed his gratitude to everyone who made a way to the venue saying he least expected it.

“I am very happy that people came to support me, I liked the mood. Indeed east or west home is the best”, he said

Chaponda said people laughed to jokes he thought were not funny, this energized him and gave him confidence to carry on up to one hour plus.

In his performance he joked about a lot of stuff, few of them were about Mugabe, slavery, US president Donald trump and many other things. He was likeable and he received a warm welcome more than he anticipated and the audience overwhelmed him because every joke was a punch line, his jokes are realistic and hilarious.

Creative Director for Concept creative Qabaniso Malewezi said as concept creative they are very happy that all the shows both in Blantyre and Lilongwe have been successful.

“We are very happy that people came in large numbers in all the venues, we don’t take it for granted, and just for your own information, this is our last event this year but people should expect another decorated calendar next year”, he said

Others who performed during the show were, the upcoming comedian Prince and patience Namadingo.

The president of laughfrica tour started on Friday evening, 24th November at Victoria Gardens in Blantyre and then concluding everything in Lilongwe on Saturday evening 25th November.
