Egypt President assures Chaponda commitment to working with Malawi
Egypt President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continue working with Malawi in various sectors of the economy.
He said, “Egypt is willing to continue working together with Malawi in all fields, and finalize the studies for the establishment a joint model fish and agricultural farm utilizing the resources available in Lake Malawi.”
President Sisi made the remarks in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday after meeting Malawi’s Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development  George Chaponda who hand-delivered a message from Malawi leader Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika.
President Mutharika’s message contained expressions for continued friendship and cooperation especially in the economic sphere.
The Egyptian President expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations and emphasized hope that the strong bilateral relations between the two countries will continue to grow.
President Sisi and Chaponda also discussed Egypt’s support for Malawi’s agricultural products and the establishment of a joint agriculture and fish farm utilizing irrigation from Lake Malawi.
Chaponda praised the current relations between the two countries and expressed interest to continue benefitting from Egyptian expertise especially in agriculture and expressed hope that Egypt’s support of technical assistance for water capacity to mitigate adverse climate and weather conditions will continue.

Do we have. VP in Malawi?..oh paja we suffer from. VP “curse” as Malawians.Chilumpha,Jb,khumbo Kachali…and now Chilima.He just like his. Predecessors is being systematically deflated. Oh yea…that. Malawi. Politics. They presidents use VPs during campaign and. Once. In power they are marginalized.

Larson David….it’s. no brainer the baton is being passed on to chaponda….Chilima. Is systematically being faded away. Yes chaponda is agriculture minster..i get that. …but he is also being delegated duties meant for sitting VP.That’s a fact.
Agree Think Tank. But as somebody has pointed out here Chaponda will be an almost octogenarian by the time we get to 2019 general elections.
