Flames to host Comoros twice in CHAN

The Malawi National Football Team, The Flames, will host Comoros twice at Bingu National Stadium in two legs of the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

The first leg which was supposed to take place in Comoros is on this Sunday 2nd March, 2025 while the second leg will be on Saturday, 8th March at the same venue. Comoros asked for the first leg to take place in Malawi because no stadium was certified fit in Comoros to host international matches by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Marketing and Broadcasting Manager at the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), Tulipo Mwenelupembe, said tickets for the two matches are already on the market and both matches will be kicking off at 3 pm.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to participate in this special round of CHAN qualifiers and we have tickets in all the three cities,” he said.

Standard tickets are at K6, 000.00 presale and K8, 000.00 on match days. VIP tickets are at K25, 000.00 presale and K30, 000.00 on match days while the corporate box tickets are at K35, 000.00.

“We are hopeful that fans will come out in large numbers to support their national team and we are excited because this is a tournament which have always wanted to qualify to the finals,” added Mwenelupembe.

CHAN is a tournament played by local players and finals of this edition will take place in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
