Funwe seed Ltd assures farmers for easy access of seeds

As the time is getting closer to growing season, Funwe Seed Limited has assured farmers in the country that they will access their seeds without sweating and at affordable prices.

Speaking at the sidelines of an agricultural fair in in Nkhotakota District on Thursday, Funwe Seed Limited regional sales manager for the northern region and centre Raphael Makaka said their company puts the welfare of farmers at heart arguing it wants to take seeds closer to farmers in their respected.

“As a company we are in the process of recruiting agro-dealers who are key in terms of delivering our seed varieties to the farmers in the north but soon we are going to the central and southern regions,” he said.

Makaka said apart from accessing Funwe seeds in agro shops like ATC, Kulima Gold and Chipiku Plus farmers will also be getting seeds using coupons.

He also encouraged farmers in the country to buy Funwe Seeds saying they will realise high yields.

“We encourage Malawians to buy our seeds which are certified and trusted. The main line of our seed supply is the maize hybrid seed MH26-locally known as Mbambande and open pollinated varieties of maize seeds,” he said.

The sales manager said Funwe Seed Limited is also a reliable supplier of assorted certified legume seeds like pigeon peas, groundnuts, cow peas, soya beans and others.

Funwe Seed Limited formally known as Funwe is a Malawian seed company established in 2002 and is located at Kanengo Industrial Area in the capital Lilongwe.
