Gaba fails JCE exams, Chimango living in fear
One of the country’s promising striker Malawi national football team forward Gabadinho Mhango has failed his 2012-2013 Junior Certificate Examinations..
According to Malawi National Examinations Board results posted at his centre, Chichiri Secondary School notice board, indicate that Gabadinho scored Agriculture F, Biology B, Chichewa F, English F, Geography F, Mathematics F, Physical Science F and Social Science F.
He was absent in Life Skills which was written when he was busy with the national team World Cup qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Big Bullets midfielder Chimango Kayira is living in fear following some club’s irate fans who threatened to deal with him on Sunday when their team suffered a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium.
After the match, some fans bayed for his blood as they were chanting abusive songs accusing him of match-fixing.
The player was whisked to safety by the police.
In an exclusive interview with Nyasa Times at his Chirimba township residence on Monday, Chimango said it was unfortunate for the supporters to accuse him of selling the game to the Bankers because he has never met any Silver Strikers official since the last time when he travelled to Lilongwe to discuss for a possible move.
“I am living in fear,” said Kayira.
Kayira also questioned why he is the most hated player at the Peoples Team as if he was the only one who played the Silver game.
“We played against Silver Strikers in the Carlsberg Cup and we won yet nobody questioned but since we have lost all of them are on my neck. This is unfair and l am living in fear to be honest with you,” said Kayira.
Quizzed on what will be his way forward, Kayira stressed that he will soldier on because he loves the club but pleaded with Big Bullets fans to hold their patience because it is not all days that are Sundays.
