Gerald Phiri takes charge at Azam Tigers
Azam Tigers have named Gerald Phiri as their new head coach with the former Mighty Wanderers and Big Bullets mentor signing a three-year contract deal.
Phiri will take charge of the Kau-Kau boys and is yet to name his backroom staff, Tigers technical director Robin Alufandika confirmed.
He replaces Franco Ndawa who was sacked recently.
Alufandika said Phiri has been given a target to “finish in the top three of the Super League and win at least one or two cups.”
Phiri’s last job was at Wanderers last season from Bullets where he served as head coach the previous year. He resigned at Wanderers following a string of poor results that had some Nomads fans baying for his blood.
Tigers manager Steve Madeira said they are “delighted to secure a man of Gerald Phiri’s calibre.”

Its a pity to see a big team like tigers sailing in troubled waters as far as winning trophies and stuff is concerned!something somewhere is dead wrong!
At least finishing top five without winning a trophy!he’s not a good coach but rather fair!he cant achieve that now but in future give him more time to master the tactics.
