Goalkeeping crisis hit Wanderers, signs trainer Vales Kamzere
TNM Super League giants and Carlsberg Cup defending champions Mighty Be Forward Wanderers have been hit by a goalkeeping crisis forcing the club to sign its goalkeeper trainer veteran Vales Kamzere.
The Nomads currently only have Richard Chipuwa to man the posts with Peter Munthali and Nenani Juwaya both out due to injuries.
Bester Phiri is also unavaiable and reports indicates that he was deregistered by the club due to illness.
Wanderers assistant coach Elia Kananji confirmed the signing of Kamzere.
Kananji said Kamzere will be used as substitute goalkeeper until transfer window opens so that they sign new goalie.
He however prayed that nothing happens to their only remaining goalkeeper Chipuwa.
Kananji said Phiri will bounce back next season as he has been given enough time to recover from his illness.
Apart from the goalkeeping crisis, the Nomads also have a lengthy injury list that includes Jabulani Linje, Ernest Tambe, Peter Mselema, Isaac Kaliati and Rafik Mussa.
The Nomads will face Southern Region Football League lower side Prison United in the quarterfinal fixture of the Carlsberg Cup at the Balaka ground on Saturday.
