Gospel singer Allan Chirwa returns, launches DVD
Gospel musician Allan Chirwa of ‘Kufanana Naye’ and ‘Amandisunga’ hits says he has refreshed his music career as far as live shows and contracts are concerned.
As a start up drive, Chirwa has organised a mega live concert to launch the DVD of his Kufanana Naye debut CD on March 4, 2012 at Sheaffer Marquee in Lilongwe.
“I would like to put the record straight that this is the same Allan Chirwa that people know but with new approach to music business,” said Chirwa, referring to the 2010 financial disagreement he had with his promoter Limbani Matola.
The singer told Nyasa Times an interview that at the moment he has no manager, disclosing: “I am running my affairs alone.”
He said the incident reduced him to zero when one of his shows at Sheaffer was almost halt when his former promoter used law enforcers to take away gate collections as reimbursement for the debt he owed him.
“It was an embarrassing situation. But now that I am starting afresh, everything is on the right track with my DVD doing well on the market,” he said.
According to Chirwa, he will launch his DVD in all the country’s three regions as a matter of giving his audience an equal opportunity to sample his outstanding stage work.
“People should expect great performance from me because I will use live band in all the venues,” assured the 25-year-old vocalist.
He said both CDs and DVD of Kufanana Naye will be readily available during all the shows which will be supported by Evans ‘Watsopano’ Mereka, Thocco Katimba, Royce Kamunde, among others.
‘Kufanana Naye’, ‘Amandisunga’, ‘Khala Chete’ and ‘Palibe Chondilekanitsa’, are some of videos that are packed in the DVD.
