Kaliati passes trials at Cape Town, awaits decision on contract
Mighty Be Foward Wanderers and Flames winger Isaac Kaliati has passed trials at Cape Town City Football club, both Kaliati and his South African agent have confirmed.
Confirming the development to Nyasa Times from South Africa, the shy speaking Kaliati said said he was informed of the development on Monday.
“Yes I can confirm that both the club and my agent confirmed that I have passed the trials,” the player said.
“I thank God for all this because without him I don’t think it would have been possible. I have already informed my parent Club (Wanderers) about the development and everyone is really happy with he outcome,” he said.
However, the former Azam Tigers player admitted that the Absa premier league club is yet to offer him the contract with negotiations still underway.
“As you are aware that the transfer window closed long time ago here. But still more the club has insisted that they can use an open window for free agents hence the delay in coming up with a decision,” said Kaliati.
In his remarks, Kaliati’s agent Michael Makaab, who also has Gabadhinho Mhango on his list, confirmed that the player has passed the trials and is only waiting for contract negotiations.
“It’s true that he has passed the trials. I knew that he would make the grade considering his talent and age. He has a bright future ahead. We are still discussing with the club regarding contract issues and I hope by the close of business this week, we will have something to communicate,” said Makaab.
Kaliati is among the list of players called for Flames camp ahead of the Flames game against Madagascar in the CHAN competition.
