Lilongwe man wins K2.5mil in DEFY Kitchen make over promo

A Lilongwe based businessman, Alinafe Mgwadila had mother luck smiled on him as  becomes the  first winner of the first draw of the Defy Promotion dubbed Kitchen makeover.

Defy products  include washing machines  refrigerators, air conditioners, microwave ovens, electric and gas stoves, washers and dryers.

The promotion comes after Westgate Investment Limited, local dealers for Defy products opened a new showroom in Lilongwe’s Old Town, where retailers will have an opportunity of purchasing state-of-the-art products from Defy Appliances Limited from a properly set up business premise.

Westgate Investments Limited have been the local distributers for Southern Africa’s largest manufacturer of major domestic appliances since 2005 but local customers did not have an opportunity of sampling the products from a properly set up business environment.

With the launch of the new showroom, the South African based company through the local agent is expected to offer much improved services to Malawian retailers.

The draw is running from the month of November till December this year.

“I thank Defy Company that my life is no longer the same,” said Mgwadira , a married man and a father.

Mgwadira has since asked other  people to enter the competition in order to stand a chance of winning.

“At first I thought it was just a joke little did I know that it was a serious business,” said Mgwadira.

Defy Country Manager, Yunus Pandor said the company decided to launch the competition as one way of giving back to the community.

“We have alot of customers who have been supporting us in 2016 but we cannot go to one by one to say thank you, this is the only way of reaching out to our customers,” said Pandor.

Pandor said the promotion was also designed as one way of promoting Defy distribution points which have been opened across the Lilongwe city.
