Lucius gets plaudits for ‘excellent’ event organization after Busy Signal gig
After a second successful hosting of the famous Jamaican Reggae artist Busy Signal, Malawi’s music icon Lucius Banda and his Impakt Events have been hailed and congratulated by not only Malawians but also the entire world for their excellent organization of international concerts.
This follows last weekend’s show-the return of Busy Signal Concert which was staged at Civo Stadium.
The concert was a warm up to the much anticipated Sand Music Festival another brain child of Banda.
Banda confirmed receiving calls from big artists and managers world wide who have also shown interest to visit and perform in Malawi.
“It feels good to be receiving calls from big artists, Managers worldwide congratulating us for the organization, marketing and treatment of artists” wrote Banda on his Facebook timeline on Thursday.
“Alot of Managers from Jamaica, UK, US, Nigeria and South Africa are calling us to get us to host their artists here,” he added.
Soldier as he is fondly called in the music circles has also acknowledged the tireless support rendered by Malawians.
However, the artist has blasted a bunch of corrupt police officers hired to assist in tighten up security at such events for indulging themselves in corrupt practices despite being given hefty allowances.
“The only problem which I feel will kill this industry is the conduct of most of the police officers who are hired to police the shows.
“For sometime we have observed that they come not to work but to make money by letting people in after they receive a small embarrassing amount which they use to get drunk and just watch the owners of the event struggle in vain trying to chase those aided-police gate
crushers” said Banda.

I think the system we had at Morgan Heritage show was by far the best and smartest. Another issue was stage timing, it was unfair to bring main man at 1.25 am when someone has paid MK12000.00, not everyone is a night owl. I feel 10/11 pm could be more considerable and honest. Regardless of everything we cant undermine your tireless effort hope to… Read more »
