Malawi-music.com makes a big statement for artists

Malawi-music.com  the country’s leading music file sharing website has announced that in the next few weeks artists with premium content will be contacted with instructions on how to acquire a username and password for the new site.

According to a statement posted on online social media platforms on Monday, customers will now be buying music direct from artists via a new section of the site that offers deals on brand new tracks.

Using the new Premium Content feature, artists can also use this account to edit bio, add social media accounts and view downloads and sales statistics.

“Payment method to include: Credit/Debit Card, Paypal, Airtel Money and Tnm Mpamba. Songs same price as iTunes $0.99 for people outside. Mpamba and Airtel customers to pay as low as k100 for a track and k12 transaction fee. Each song will have different price set by artist,” reads the statement in part.

It added, “Airtel Money and TNM Mpamba transaction fees will still apply. Hence the lower cost for tracks for customers in Malawi. Artists will be able to track and monitor sale transactions in real time and transfer funds using the artist administration section.”

The statement further disclosed that music found in the new store will not appear in the normal malawi-music free download site, saying only a short sample if available for promotion.

“Customers can browse the music store for premium content tracks. And can also buy multiple songs at once using one of the payment methods. First time Customers will have to create an account to login and out in order to view and stream previously purchased tracks.

“The new store comes with a multi-item checkout, compatible with PayPal, Mpamba and Airtel Money, It offers full shopping cart functionality,” reads the statement.

It further said the new innovative system will prevent download link sharing and discovery to prevent unauthorized download of your valuable tracks. Once a customer buys a song in the store they can also download it by visiting an artists’ downloads page that will contain all the downloads.

According to the statement the new system will be rolled out in 3 stages: 1. Teaching artists to use their secured pages 2. Moving premium tracks into store 3. Customer registration
