Malawi President appoints Kalomba as new National AIDS Commission boss
Malawi President Peter Mutharika has appointed Davie Kalomba as executive director for National AIDS Commission (NAC).

Kalomba confirmed that he has been offered the appointment saying he is “greatly honoured” and feel “deeply humbled”.
He said NAC was an important institution in the country and he would ensure that it continues playing its rightful role.
Kalomba replaces Thomas Bisika who was appointed by former president the late Bingu wa Mutharika in September 2010 but was unceremoniously removed in 2014.
NAC board chairperson Paramount Chief Kyungu said Kalomba’s appointment is with effect from June 1, 2016.
Kyungu said Kalomba, who has been acting boss for NAC, has “vast experience” in policy analysis and development, strategic and operational planning, HIV and Aids research.
He holds MBA (Health, Population & Nutrition obtained from Kalee University as well as Bachelor of Social Science, Economics from University of Malawi.
