Malawi Queens lose to New Zealand in Fast5 netball opener

Malawi Queens lost to world netball champions New Zealand’s 26- 49 in the opening match at the Fast5 world series netball tournament  on Saturday.

New Zealand led 9-5 after the first quarter and 19-13 at halftime before piling on 24 points in their third-quarter power play to seal the win.

Australia opened their Fast5 netball world series campaign with a comprehensive 33-13 win over Jamaica.

England were equally dominant in accounting for South Africa 44-22. They won their last-quarter power play 24-6 after leading 13-4 at halftime and 20-16 at the three-quarter mark.

Losing, we lose to New Zealand, but the margin is wide and cause for concern. Drop-out of some experienced players and change of coach may have turned the dynamic against us. I hope we are learning the lessons.
