Malawi striker John Banda passes trials at Jomo Cosmos
Blue Eagles captain and Flames international attacker John ‘CJ’ Banda claims he has passed two weeks trials he underwent at the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Jomo Cosmos.
Banda who returned home on Thursday said he received an assuarance from Cosmos owner Jomo Sono that he has been impressive and that he successfully passed the trials.
“I know people are eager to know, for me, I have successfully passed the trials. As I was coming from South Africa, the owner Jomo Sono told me I have passed the trials” said Banda.
The versatile midfielder described the trials as good and thanked former club mate Micium Mhone for being a wonderful compatriot during his stay in South Africa.
Banda said he is expected to join Cosmos this month of January if all goes well and that it fails, he will join the club in May.
He further said he has done alot on the domestic scene and its high time he face new challenges on the international scene.
Meanwhile, Blue Eagles coach Deklerk Msakakuona has confessed that it will not be easy to find Banda’s replacement.
