Malawi Under-20 start camp Tuesday

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has called a list of 25 players to start camping on Tuesday in preparation for third round Africa Youth Championship against neighbouring Zambia on August 16 at Kamuzu Stadium before a return fixture in Ndola Zambia two weeks later.

The Under-20 team will face Lesotho on August 9 at Kamuzu Stadium in preparations for the Young Chipolopolo Boys of Zambia.

The call up list has maintained the majority of players who carried the team through to the third round after beating Botswana and DRC in the first and second rounds respectively.

FAM General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda earlier had disclosed last week during a press conference that association had arranged for the team would to have started camping on Sunday but the football governing was waiting for financial support from government.

Meanwhile Zambia Under-20 started camping on Sunday with the majority of the players drawn from their football academies.

Goalkeepers; Bright Munthali, Dalitso Makunganya, Enock Matangazira.

Defenders; Trevor Kalema, Miracle Ganeya, Botson Kabango, Swedi Limbani, Mark Fodya, Stanly Sanudi, Lovemore Jere, Levison Maganizo,.

Midfielders; Mathias Nyirenda, Ben Manyozo, Ernest Tambe, Isaac Mwale, Isaac Kaliati, Patrick Phiri, Dalitso Sailesi, Abraham Kamwendo.

Strikers; Khumbo Ng’ambi, Chawanangwa Kaonga, Precious Msosa, Wongani Kuchisanja, Tony Biasi, Raphael Phiri.

The technical panel remains the same with Enerst Mtawali being headcoach Mighty Wanderers coach Gerald Phiri his assistant, team manager Nicholas Mhango, team doctor Levi Mwala, Sibusiso Padambo goalkeeper trainer.
