Speaking recently when distributing the items in Maluwata Village in the district, MYD, Executive Director, Lewis Kamundi said the donation meant to give the children hope for a better and brighter future.

Kamundi pledged his organization’s continued support to children in Malawi, saying as an organization they have a pivotal role to play.

“We felt to donate the items to the vulnerable children at Maluwata area because the place is remote, characterized by poor families and orphaned children who often have inadequate food and lack access to early childhood development services,” he said.

Speaking when receiving the items, Genesis Maluwata from Maluwata Village expressed gratitude for the assistance, describing it timely and as a relief.

“The support has come at a right time when the centre is experiencing myriad challenges. We provide nursery school to under five children, provide breakfast made of highly nutritive recipes and day care.

“We help 15 children, most of them orphans and at risk of being malnourished due to inadequate food in their homes, therefore, the support will certainly help to alleviate some of the problems,” he
explained.
