Malawian man in cigarettes smuggling arrested in Ireland
A 29-year-old Malawian man has been arrested at Dublin Airport in connection with cigarette smuggling.
According to Breaking News Ireland online publication, more than 16,000 Benson and Hedges cigarettes were seized from his luggage.
The cigarettes had an estimated retail value of over €7,500.
The Malawian had arrived on a flight from Dubai.
He appeared in court Monday afternoon where he was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday.
