Malawi’s netball export Mwawi does it again for Waves
Malawi’s netball sensation Mwawi Kumwenda continues to make an impact in Australia Victorian Netball League (VNL) when she inspired Peninsula Waves to the summit of the league following their victory against Southern Saints by 59 baskets to 43 on Wednesday.
The Malawi Queens evergreen shooter notched 54 baskets out of the 59.
Wave’s victory means they are now basking on the summit table with 15 points.
Speaking to Nyasa Times from Australia, Kumwenda said: “Three matches in a role l have scored more baskets for my side. The game against Saints was very special to me because l guided my team to the top slot,” said Kumwenda.
The versatile shooter also hailed her side for working as a team in the past three games.
Kumwenda, formerly of Escom Sisters also emphasized that her ambition this year is to lead her side to more victories so that they grab the title.
Last season, she was named VNL’s best player and top goal shooter.
