Max Bullets warn Wanderers ahead of Pres Cup quarterfinal: Deny underdogs tag
MTV Max Bullets have warned Mighty Be Forward Wanderers against underrating the elite league rookies as the two sides tussle in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Presidential Cup edition Wednesday at Kamuzu Stadium.
Max Bullets owner Max Kapanga said they are very much prepared and for the crucial encounter and that they are looking for nothing but victory.
“We are very much prepared for the encounter and we are not fearing anything. The way we have prepared we know ourselves and we can’t reveal its our own secret but what you should know is that we are going to punish Wanderers come rain or sunshine” said Kapanda.
He went on to mock the Nomads that they are no longer giants as other people label comparing to his team.
“What people should know is that we are winning this game, people should come in large numbers to witness for themselves” he said.
“We have lost so many (league) games and this is our time to rise, its a do or die encounter” he added.
Commenting on the game, Max Bullets coach Trevor Kajawa said the boys are indeed ready but confessed it will be a difficult game.
“This is a cup game and anything can happen. We have been struggling in the league but this is a different game all together. We are prepared and ready for the showdown” said Kajawa.
Both Wanderers Assistant Coach Elia Kananji and Team Manager Steve Madeira said they are ready for the game after a long break.
“We are psychologically ready, physically ready and mentally ready” said Madeira.
Kananji said; “We have prepared well, everything is in place and we are ready to bounce back after a long break. We cannot talk much, this is a cup game and fom my experience anything can happen but we are looking forward to a better result”.
Max Bullets have been the whipping boys in the TNM Super League having lost seven games and drawn four times.
They are yet to register a win and they currently seat on position 15 of the 16 member log table with four points.
Their opponent-Wanderers are on position 13 with eight points but they have played only seven games against 11 of Bullets.
Another Presidential Cup fixture will be played at the Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday and will involve Kabwafu FC and Nyasa Big Bullets..
