Mike Akitivi featuring Lulu in Christina music video: To release end July

After releasing the audio single ‘Christina’, which he featured Lulu three months ago, Ireland-based Malawian artist Mike Akitivi has revealed that he is set to release the video by first week of July.akitivi video

The video was shot in Dublin and Lilongwe.

In an interview with Nyasa Times on Tuesday, Akitivi said the message in the song talks about a young man who has find his love of his life and he has finally settle down.

He said in short, the song talks about someone being blown away by his new girlfriend love.

Akitivi also revealed that currently, he is working on his album called Ndapata. In the 10 track album, contains the Christina song.

Born on 15, May, 1986 as Mike Yasini, Akitivi said Malawians should expect to see him perfoming on stage at the end of this year.

Currently, he is discussing with Lulu and his Mathumela band to conduct a number of performances.

The Business Management Degree program student developed interest in music at a tender age when he used to listen to artists from Balaka like Lucius Banda, Paul and Rod Subiri.

“I have never leant music from anybody apart from being inspired with artists from Balaka. Let me also salute Lulu, who is my mentor in the studio,” he said.

Akitivi was first introduced in the studio in 2009 by one of the Nyemba nyemba fame boys, Symon Kamlaka.

Then in 2010, he recorded his first song called, ‘Ndilira nthawi yoyamba’ which was famous in drinking joints.
