Mkorongo new Civo coach set own targets
Former Silver Striker coach Thom Mkorongo is to take over as head coach at Civo Unites, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The civil servants, who have been searching for a new head coach since the sacking of veteran Alex Masanjala last season, have offered Mkorongo the job with an American as his prospective deputy.
Civo general secretary Rashid Ntelela refused to disclose the assistant’s identity.
“It’s a good feeling, something I’ve been very excited about,” said Mkorongo.
Mkorongo said he wants to stage a revival of Civo to be fighting for silverware from all fronts in the forthcoming season.
“I think the chances of winning the league and cups are there,” said Mkolongo.
“We have to have the mentality of playing winning football. We hope to get the right momentum for our players to keep winning,” he said.
