Morgan Heritage returns to Malawi April 30: Live band performance this time
True to their word, true to their conviction as trend setters when it comes to inviting renowned international reggae artist is to their homeland, Born Afrikaner Production have announced the live performance of The Royal Family, Morgan Heritage and this time around its a 16 member band.
After a promotional performance of their new album, Strictly Roots in December last year, one of the band members Gramps Morgan promised Malawians that they will be back this year with a festival.
“Born Afrikan Productions presents “THE MUSIC UNITE FESTIVAL “on the 30th ofApril,” wrote Born Afrikan, also known as Nelson Shaba on his Facebook account.
Announcing of what is dubbed a ‘Mission Possible’ initiative, Born Afrikan has brought down the charges to K8000 without any VIP fee.
In an interview with Nyasa Times, Born Afrikaner local coordinator Mphatso Chaluluka said the coming of the full band signifies the quality of live performance the promoters aim at giving Malawians.
So far according to the communication, its Morgan Heritage and Born Afrikan earmarked to perform.
“There will also be various performance but as professionals, we will announce once the contracts have been sealed,” said Chaluluka.
He also said the venue will be announced once its confirmed.
Following the announcement, fans have been commenting on the show they have been waiting for.
Raymond Msalawatha said, “thats the way to go Rasta…!!!!in full support of Born Afrikan productions.”
Alfred Davids Mwanyama said he has no doubt of the show.
“I have no reason to doubt this since I know circumstances surrounding the first one. I seek solace in the wisdom of half a loaf is better than none. I look forward to the new date. One love!”
Emmanuel Hope Kafaamveka said, “Please line up the real upcoming reggae artists of Malawi. Put them on the map let them collaborate with the Jamrock singers. That’s just my plea.”
Morgan Heritage performance is far cheaper than anywhere else in the world but as in other countries Morgan Heritage pegs its standard tickets at £40 or $50.
