MP Chidanti calls for collective efforts to end hunger

Member of Parliament for Nsanje South West, Joshep Chidanti Malunga has called for collective effort among MPs to address the country’s hunger situation.
Malunga made the call in his contribution to President Peter Mutharika’s State-of- the-Nation Address when he opened the 2016-2017 Budget Meeting of Parliament.
He said although the hunger situation had created dividing views among people, it was high time MPs regardless of their political differences worked together to find lasting solutions to the problem.
“Let us bury our political differences and work together in finding solutions to address the hunger situation for the benefit of our people in the country,” Malunga said.
The MP, however, appealed to his fellow Members of the legislature not to politicise solutions to address hunger to avoid creating political unrest.
Malunga said their efforts would bear fruit only if MPs refrained from favouring their party followers in their constituencies when implementing interventions aimed at overcoming hunger.
The MP commended ADMARC for providing food supplies in most of the statutory corporation’s depots in his constituency to enable people to access the staple food.
He asked government to explore ways of maximising irrigation farming by taking advantage of the rivers which he said had abundant water in his area.
This MP needs to be heard and given a chance in the exploitation of Agricultural techniques and alleviation of hunger in the country. Mind you this guy is a learned person in that field for he indeed has the qualifications. He is a PhD holder, very humble and knows what he is saying. Utilise him and see what he will bring on the table to the benefit of Malawi. More deliberate and weighted fire Mr. Malunga, enafe tili mbuyomo!!!!!!!
Good show Honourable Chidanti indeed. God bless you!
