MP Dzoole raises Point of Order over Jumbe misleading the House: ‘Salima is not an Island’

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Lilongwe Msozi South MP, Vitus Dzoole Mwale raised a Point of Order in Parliament accusing fired MCP lawmaker Felix Jumbe of misleading the House that Salima Central is an Island.

Jumbe was fired from MCP for bringing the party and its leadership into disrepute.

He relocated to Independents benches in the House but is associating with ruling Democrcatic Progressive Party (DPP) where he is expected to join its rank and file.

Jumbe has been referrering his seat in the House as “an Island.”

But Dzoole Mwale  raised the matter with the First Deputy Speaker Esther Mcheka Chilenje.

“This House is being misled by the Honourable Member for Salima Central to say that his constituency is now an Island,” said Dzoole Mwale.

“Salima is not an Island,” he added, asking Jumbe to apologise.

The First Deputy Speaker said  “we only have two sides in the House, that is the left and right side and no Island. “
