MP Jumbe officially joins DPP, Uladi is next
Salima Central member of Parliament (MP) Felix Jumbe who was expelled from Malawi Congress Party(MCP) has now officially joined thebgoverning Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Jumbe was welcomed into the DPP at a function in Salima soon after President Peter Mutharika had unveiled a foundation stone for the China Africa Textile Company.
The parliamentarian said he was happy to work with the governing party after long time of fighting his own political party which later expelled him.
Jumbe commended Government for the factory saying it will help to create jobs.
“Am told the factory will create 1,500 jobs this is just good and will increase cotton value,” Said Jumbe.
Jumbe said the factory will require 100Metric tonnes per annum a development which will solve the marketing problems of cotton.
“Let’s join hands to produce more cotton however, we need special program to increase cotton production
We have Mtalimanja rice factory
“Which requires 200Metric tonnes per day We also have sugar company and today we have Cotton factory , this is just good for the nation,” said Jumbe.
Notable face during the same rally, was former People’s Party President Uladi Mussa who is famously known as Change Golo.
Bakili style of leadership. Bakili was bringing trucks full of maize as if he had come to distribute them and he took them away. Pitala is doing the same by just planting stones promising people he would do something. at least Bakili acted or behaved like a local chicken. We expect high standards from some who lived in the USA. Alas! Not Pitala. Useless.
No wonder jumping the ship. This is mere thank you after he was given multi million contract of supplying seeds (subsidy program). Remember FJ holds Peacock seeds. Believe me or not.. Self enrichment is the subject here.

Politicians without integrity, today in this part and tomorrow in the other side, useless old people why can’t you just go and rest or start farming?
It is this ”we don’t care” syndrome that has made MCP stay in the opposition for 23 years. A party which is serious to take government should worry with the speed of defections from the party. In politics every member is part of the victory team so losing one member is a plus to the opposing party. How can MCP strategize itself when stories of defections are order of the day. MCP would feel better if it closed the central region door from any defection to DPP and have enough time to concentrate in the South. But it will be… Read more »

Where are the youth to shake up Malawi politics. Why are the youth not taking up their role in society by being active in politics so that they lift Malawi to a global stage. Malawi should no longer be ruled and led by old and recycled politicians but rather those that represent this young country (73% of Malawi population is below 30 years). Otherwise it will be true of Malawians that “”youth is being wasted on the young people. Ana inu Dzukani…….dzikoli ndi lanu.
Welcome my brother Jumber.
