Nomads, Bullets in mind games ahead of Carlsberg Cup crunch semis

The giant Civo Stadium is once again expected to turn into a boiling pot of emotions on Saturday afternoon with the explosive Carlsberg Cup semi-finals for Blantyre derby between Mighty Wanderers and Big Bullets -the power houses of domestic football.

It is a contest that is expected to shred the nerves of high-spirited fans, who will travel from districts like Ntchisi, Dedza, Mchinji, Salima to watch the big bulls rocking horns.

Mighty Wanderers captain Bongani Kaipa declared that it will be total war on Saturday.

“We cannot afford to lose to our bitter rivals in a semi-final with just a step to reach the finals. That will be carelessness .We are ready for the show down.” said Kaipa.

On his part, Nomads coach Gerald Phiri said his troops will fight their way to victory on Saturday.

However, Phiri was quick to point that it will not be an easy task and 90 minutes of sublime majesty will be required.

However, Big Bullets captain Fischer Kondowe said they will start at full throttle in order to suffocate life out of the Nomads.

“If you allow a team like Wanderers to settle down and knock the ball around, then you are inviting trouble. We will make sure to start with more fire,” said Kondowe who has wealth of experience in such nerve wrecking encounters.

Inspirational captain Henry Kabichi will marshal the midfield which will also built around James Chilapondwa.

In the wings, Kondowe and Dalitso Sailesi should supply lines open for the deadly duo Mussa Manyenje and Diverson Mlozi .

On the Nomads side, Timothy Chitedze is the Nomads predator -in-chief and is expected to be at the heart of the Lali- Lubani Boys best moves with the penetrating raids.

Mike Kaziputa will start from his customary left flank while Jacob Ngwira will orchestrate from the centre.
