Nyasulu Calls for Unity in Northern Region Football Development
Newly elected Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) Chairperson, Masiya Nyasulu, has appealed for collective efforts to uplift football standards in the region following his victory in Saturday’s elections held in Mzimba.

Nyasulu, who defeated Chauka Mwasinga, pledged an inclusive leadership approach to unite stakeholders.
“It was a hard-fought battle, but I’m happy to emerge victorious. Our doors are open to everyone willing to work with us. The choice is theirs — to stay away or join hands as we develop football together,” said Nyasulu.
Election Returning Officer and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Executive Member, Felistus Dossi, emphasized the need for the new committee to align with FAM’s agenda of transforming the game.
“As FAM, our priority remains transforming the game. The elections were free and fair, though some members absconded. If there are any grievances, they are free to appeal to the FAM General Secretary,” Dossi said.
Nyasulu, previously the association’s General Secretary, will serve as Chairperson for the next four years. He will be deputized by Epimack Lwanja, while Lupakisho Simwela and Charles Nyirenda will take up the roles of General Secretary and Vice General Secretary, respectively.
Felix Chidongo Chipeta was elected Treasurer General unopposed, with Counsel Kolezi Phiri also going unopposed as Legal Advisor.
The new leadership has been tasked with revamping football in the region and fostering transparency in the administration of the game.
