PIS Blantyre netball tournament throw-off October 7
The 2017 Blantyre Urban Presidential Initiative on Sports (PIS) netball tournament draw will be conducted on October 7 at Blantyre
Youth Centre.
Blantyre and District Netball League (BDNL) General Secretary Annie Hanjahanja told Nyasa Times that the draw is expected to be conducted at exactly 8:00am.
Hanjahanja said immediately after the darw all the games are expected to throw-off.
A total of 12 teams have so far registered in the competiton but only two lucky teams will qualify from the district to national level
where they will meet other district teams.
Qualified teams at regional level will reach into national phase where they will battle it out against Kukoma Diamonds, Tigresses and
Thunder Queens who the only seeded teams at national level.
“We expect to see entertaining play and talent from both teams on this day. I just urge netball coaches and all netball lovers to come and
watch these games because that’s where people scout real talent and future players. Let me also ask all the teams to come in good time
because our target is to finish the games on the same day and find the two winners,” said Hanjahanja.
