Malawi capital city giants Silver Strikers have completed the signing of Ghanaian players Samuel Siaw.

The last West African to have played in the Super League was Ghanaian goalkeeper Thom Aido who starred for Mighty Wanderers in the 1990s.

Silver general secretary Mike Tembo confirmed completing Siaw’s transfer deal from D ‘International of Ghana at $3 500 (about K1.5 million).

Tembo said Bankers are also supposed to settle K2 million transfer fee for former Wanderers player Timothy Chitedze.

He said the rest of the signings were on free transfer.

According to Tembo, the Bankers have “ a humble duty” of bringing back the flagship league to Lilongwe and also win all cups.

“ We also want to become the first club [in recent years] to sweep all cups, including the Standard Bank Knock-Out Trophy which we hold,” Tembo said.

The transfer window closed over the weekend.
