Simama League prize presentation in the dark
Mzuzu and districts Simama Premier League prize presentation has been delayed because the Northern Religion Football Association (NRFA) is yet to agree with the sponsors on the actual date of the presentation.

The league, which in previous seasons was characterized by wrangles and poor administration, lasted on 27th December 2015, earlier than in the previous seasons. Chilumba Barracks FC emerged winners of the league.
NRFA acting General Secretary, Patel Kaunda, said it is a tradition that the sponsors and the NRFA agree on the date for the prize presentation ceremony.
“The delay has no effect on the team [Chilumba Barracks FC] which is preparing for the TNM Super League following its promotion. When the executive committee meets, they will communicate the actual date,” he said.
Kaunda strongly advised Chilumba Barracks FC to recruit (players) wisely so that the team properly prepare for the top flight TNM Super League.
“It is our ambition that each team getting promotion in the North should remain in the top flight and be able to compete for honours at national level,” he said.
Chilumba Barracks FC Manager, Kazizwa Banda, echoed NRFA’s acting General Secretary in a telephone interview, saying the delay for prize presentation is not affecting their preparations.
“What we need is to recruit experienced players to beef-up our current squad and for us, the main reward is our promotion into the top flight so we are totally focused,” he said.
Chilumba Barracks FC will start their preparations for their 2016/17 TNM Super League Season on 17th February, 2016, in Karonga District–Mana
