TNM extends Super League sponsorship for five seasons
Telecom Networks Malawi (TNM) have lived up to their motto, ‘always with you’ by pumping in a whooping of K65 million for five season towards the sponsorship of the country’s top flight league starting from the 2012-2013 season.
Revealing the good news on Tuesday evening at Mount Soche Hotel in the commercial city of Malawi, Blantyre, TNM Chief Commercial Officer Charles Kamoto emphasised that it pleases the company to bankroll the coming five seasons because they were impressed with the administration of the league.
Kamoto said they were also impressed that for the past years when the company has been sponsoring the league cornerstones of their conditions of sponsorship like good governance, hooliganisms-free were followed.
He also stressed that TNM will be there even during hard times when many companies are shunning away sponsoring football.
“If it were other companies they could have pulled out with the current situation as far as our economy is concerned,” said Kamoto.
In his remarks, Super League of Malawi (Sulom)president Innocent Botomani commended TNM for the sponsorship when the country ‘s economy is still ailing.
“This is very commendable achievement to both the company and Sulom. My plea to soccer lovers in the country is that let us patronize football matches when the league kicks off this weekend,” said Botomani.
He, however, appealed to the general public to continue buying TNM products as a token of appreciation.
The 2012-2013 TNM Super League is expected to kick-off this weekend with some mouth watering fixtures in Blantyre and Lilongwe.
The defending champion, Silver Strikers will host visiting Blantyre City giants Big Bullets at Silver Stadium in area 47, as the Mighty ‘Nyerere’ Wanderers will enjoy home ground advantage in a tricky fixture against the Mzuzu based soldiers Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.
