Unapologetic MCP Supporter Ayuba Appeals to Chakwera to Fire Finance Minister Chithyola

A vocal MCP supporter, Silvester Ayuba James, has appealed to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to consider replacing Finance Minister Simplex Chithyola Banda with a more accomplished economist.

In his appeal, Ayuba emphasized that his request is driven by national interest rather than personal grievances.

“This is about the nation, Sir. Please, appoint an accomplished economist as Minister of Finance. I hold nothing personal against the current minister, but I have everything national in my consideration, Sir.”

Ayuba expressed concerns about the current minister’s academic qualifications, suggesting that some basic fiscal policy problems could be better addressed by a seasoned economist.

“You do not have to fire Honourable Chithyola, Sir, if you don’t wish to. You may just move him to a different ministry where he would be fitting and let a proper economist with deep and thorough expertise in the subject matter move in, Sir. He must also have some street background to enable him to appreciate the dark arts that are always at play on the Forex market.”

He further recommended Professor Ronald Mangani from Press Corporation as a potential candidate, describing him as an undisputed genius with both theoretical and practical expertise in economics.

“I don’t think we are short of such individuals in this country, Sir. Zikavutitsitsa, Sir, bwerekerani Prof. Ronald Mangani from Press Corporation. Ndi chiphe cha Economics chimene chija, Sir, both in theory and practice. He is an undisputed genius with a lucid understanding and a detailed analysis of the game of Economics.”

Ayuba acknowledged that other equally qualified economists are available and urged the President to select the best fit for the office to navigate the country through the economic crisis.

“Not because Mr. Chithyola has done anything particularly wrong, but because he is not a proper economist handling an economy in a crisis when plenty of qualified economists are available on the shelf. It doesn’t make sense, Sir.”

He concluded by expressing his well wishes for the President and the MCP government, stressing that his unsolicited advice comes from a place of genuine concern.

“I am saying all this because I wish you well, Sir. And because I don’t wanna see my MCP out of government this soon, Sir. If that’s your wish, too, please, act, Sir.”

Ayuba added that sometimes crucial truths come from unexpected sources, comparing his social media commentary to random village talkers rather than close advisors.

“Your interested advisors may not tell you some of the simple but critical things you need to hear, Sir. And they may not wish you as well as some of us do. Thank you, Sir.”
