Vuwa ‘clings’ to government vehicle
Malawi’s former Youth Development and Sports minister Symon Vuwa-Kaunda is still clinging to a government vehicle registration number MG 91 despite being dropped from cabinet two-weeks ago.
According to a government insiders. the vehicle was earmarked for the Director of Youth in the ministry.
When contacted, Kaunda said government is responsible for collecting the vehicle and not him handing over.
“After all, am not using it. It is at home just waiting for government officials to collecting it,” he said.
Vuwa-Kaunda, who was one of the hand-clappers of late president Bingu wa Mutharika, maintained that he is “not bitter” for having been dropped from Cabinet.
The Nkhata Bay Central parliamentarian also pledged support to his successor, Enock Chihana.
Vuwa was however rejected by the ruling People’s Party to join its rank and file.
