Wanderers in massive clearance of fading stars
Mighty Wanderers have shown an exit door to seven of their players in a bid to recruit fresh legs in readiness of the TNM Super League second round.
Players on the chopping list include supporters favourite Omega Mhone who made headlines last season when he had a grand game against Epac FC at Kamuzu Stadium.
Some players, who have been axed are striker Diverson Chilemba, Felix Kamwendo, Diverious Mwale, William Abdulla, Tawonga Chingati and Edward Chilalika.
An inside source from Lali-Lubani Road told Nyasa Times that the Nomads executive is contemplating on ropping in some new faces to replace the surplus to requirements.
However, the Nomads vice general secretary Chris Kananji confirmed that the team has chopped in the players but refused to reveal their names.
“We have released seven players as part of rebuilding phase. This is not a new development as you are aware that during off season we release some players and buy some more,” said Kananji.
He assured the Nomads fans that they will go on the market to buy new players who will fill the space left by the chopped boys.
The Nomads have a tricky assignment on Sunday as they face Moyale Barracks in the Standard Bank Quarter finals.
